This refers to individuals who constantly drain your energy and leave you feeling exhausted. Here are some tips to avoid energy takes: ✨ Firstly, it is essential to recognize the signs of energy takes. These individuals may frequently complain, criticize, or always focus on the negative aspects of life. Once you identify them, it's time to set clear boundaries. Let them know that you have limitations and communicate what behaviors you find unacceptable. Next, limit contact with these energy vampires. This doesn't mean you have to cut them out of your life completely, but it's crucial to limit the amount of time you spend with them. Instead, surround yourself with positive experiences and individuals who uplift you. Self-care is also incredibly important. Take the time to prioritize your physical and emotional health. Invest in activities that make you feel good, whether that's exercising, reading, or indulging in a hobby. Lastly, practice assertive communication. We need to stop apologizing for being who we are and start celebrating it. Instead of saying sorry, let's start saying thank you. Thank you for understanding my need for alone time. I relate to this, and I also see this in the work I relate to this, and I also see this in the work that I do, too. It's common - to hold on to the stories that bring us pain and repeat them to anyone who will listen. 📚We find connection through stories. The stories of our past also connect us to the people who died or became estranged, too. Also, we may hold onto wonderful stories that remind us of what we wish would be different, better, or more, with people who are still living. 💛No matter how painful those stories are or how much sadness wells up when you relive them in your mind (and heart), the resistance to let go or move on only strengthens the armor. Which then gets added every time someone says a hurtful or unhelpful thing or when another grieving experience occurs. 💙Healing isn't a destination. Instead, it's an ongoing process. Look at pain as an indicator of what needs to change or addressed. 💜Do you want to create even more stories of loss by holding on to old stories no longer serving you? I can tell you, and I don't think you'll disagree: history has a way of repeating itself - unless we pull them, like weeds, at their root. 👉Think of yourself as the author of the next chapter of your story.
